Me and my buddy Chris (seen above trying to look thoughtful) took some time on Saturday to build something that has been in my head for a long time now. No, not a documentary on Bricktography. I call it
The Pirate Chair, because it's a chair that looks like it's missing a leg. Been thinking about different ways to make this illusion come to life and landed on replacing a leg with clear acrylic. I think the effect works nicely but it's not the right solution, as in most instances it looks like I simply replaced a leg of a chair with a plastic one for some reason. Which isn't the look I was going for. But at the right angle, with the right light, on the right floor, it really
does look precarious and funny. Anywho, I was excited for Lauren to come home to show her what we did, and waited patiently by the door for her reaction. Needless to say, it didn't meet my expectations, was more like a "You spent the day doing
what?!" Admittedly, I did have thank you notes to write and the dishes needed to be loaded.
